• South Africa 02-01 Senegal: Thulani HLATSHWAYO scored from the spot, and Thulani SERENO doubled the lead minutes later, as Bafana Bafana hand Senegal their first loss in a competitive match in nearly two years. South Africa are level with Burkina Faso atop Group D.
• Nigeria 03-01 Algeria: The Super Eagles take control of Group B with a comfortable victory in Uyo. Victor MOSES came away with a brace for the home side.
• Morocco 00-00 Côte d’Ivoire: Neither side could find the breakthrough in Marrakech. The other match in Group C, between Mali and Gabon, also ended goalless, leaving the Elephants still in first place.
• Guinea 01-02 Congo DR: Neeskens KEBANO and Yannick BOLASIE scored for Congo DR in quick succession in the second half, overturning a 1-0 halftime deficit.
