FIFA have awarded the Myanmar-Kuwait match in AFC first phase Group G as a 3-0 forfeit win to Myanmar due to Kuwait’s suspension.

The match was to have taken place on TUE 17 NOV 2015 in Bangkok, Thailand, Myanmar’s de facto home ground owing to a sanction of their own dating back to incidents at a 2014 Men’s World Cup qualifier. However, the Kuwaiti squad failed to arrive, as the Kuwait Football Association was under a suspension of its own for government interference.

The forfeiture secures Korea Rep’s place in the second group phase, as Kuwait would have been the only team in the group with a chance at surpassing the Koreans’ 18 point haul.
