Papua New Guinea to host OFC Men’s Nations Cup

The Oceania Football Confederation has announced that the 2016 OFC Men’s Nations Cup, the next round in Russia 2018 qualifiers, will be held in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. The tournament is to kick off on SAT 28 MAY 2016.

Defending champions Tahiti are in Group A, with the OFC’s highest ranked side, New Zealand, in Group B. The top three teams in each group will advance to the final round of OFC qualifiers for the 2018 Men’s World Cup. The champion will also represent the OFC at the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia.

All 16 tournament matches will be played in Port Moresby, at either Sir John Guise Stadium or Lloyd Robson Oval.
