• Morocco 02-02 Côte d’Ivoire: The Elephants held a late 2-1 lead, but Hamza ABOURAZZOUK had other ideas. By finding net in the 89th minute, he earned a draw for Morocco and kept them within two points of Côte d’Ivoire, leaders of Group C.
• Guinea 02-03 Egypt: In Conakry, it was another heart stopping finish. Trailing 2-1, Guinea’s Alhassane BANGOURA scored the equaliser with only two minutes left in normal time. But deep into stoppage time, Mohamed SALAH scored to stun the spectators and keep Egypt with a perfect start in Group G.
• Mali 02-01 Algeria: Playing in Burkina Faso because of Mali’s delicate political situation, the Eagles pulled into a tie for second place in Group H.
