Caymans, BVI knocked out of qualifiers
[MON 31 MAR 2008]
The Bahamas and Bermuda won their way into the finals of their respective CONCACAF first round groups on SUN 30 MAR 2008. The first leg between the Bahamas and the British Virgin Is ended in a 1-1 draw, and then the Bahamas staked a 2-0 second leg lead. But Anadale WILLIAMS scored two in the last twelve minutes to even the series on aggregate. Both matches were played in the Bahamas, but since the BVI were designated the home team for the second leg, they lost the series on away goals, and the Bahamas advance in Group 2B to meet Jamaica. In the day’s other match, Bermuda defeated the Cayman Is 3-1, to win the series 4-2 on aggregate and move on to play Trinidad-Tobago in the final of Group 1C.
