The three matchups of the CAF first round completed with Sierra Leone, Madagascar, and Djibouti advancing to the second round. Sierra Leone advanced with a single goal, by Kewullay CONTEH in the first leg, over Guinea-Bissau. Madagascar eliminated another island nation, the Comoros, on a 10-2 aggregate scoreline, and Djibouti won 1-0 in a single match against neighbours Somalia. The three winners will be drawn into their second round groups at the preliminary draw in Durban, South Africa.
